I don’t know what to think. I don’t even know what that means. Re-release an album with different songs? Can you even do that? Is it the same album anymore? What happens to what used to be C3 (which, by the way, I liked a lot)?

Charles Hamilton — Windows Media Player (via NahRight)

Makes me wish I thought of sampling those Windows sounds.

Also, I have no idea how Charles Hamilton reciting the urls of his websites as the hook is catchy, but it is.

I highly doubt that his rich but nameless supporters exist. Although it would be nice to know who he’s talking about.

Oh, and this Weezy track is for the ladies. Somehow it is way less disgusting and creepy live (or at least it was when I saw him).

Every other music website in the world has the most boring news ever today (trust me, I went to all of them), and HipHopDX manages to pull up four really interesting stories, mostly about Nas.

Nas, in conjunction with ColorofChange.org and MoveOn.org, submitted a petition to Fox News today to stop “patterns of racist attacks against black Americans.” The quotes from the article seem pretty incriminating (sure, they’re out of context, but I can’t really think of a context where saying the phrase “lynching party” in relation to a black woman would be appropriate). The other reason I can get behind this is that I can’t stand Fox News, particularly Bill O’Reilly. I still can’t understand why that guy still has a job.

Also, could we soon see a Nas album (or even two) other than Illmatic with good production? It sounds like an oxymoron, but who knows?

DJ Oettinger put together “A Milli” and Mariah Carey’s “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time.” I like it.

Oh, and I have a little more information about where this blog will be going in the near future. Over the next couple of weeks, Kyle will be holding it down, updating the blog pretty regularly while I get acclimated to South Africa. Then I will likely have a good, reliable internet connection, and I will probably start posting here, although less often than I do now. Bottom line: we’re in good shape. Keep coming back for sweet music criticism.

I decided to make an “A Milli” music video of my own.

Go to the actual YouTube page and vote for it, write unabashedly flattering comments on it, etc. I appreciate it.

By the way, later tonight I’ll put up some legitimately new music. So come back in a couple hours.

My first thought was that this video was kind of lazy, but I appreciate the originality. It’s nice to see a rap music video that isn’t like every single other rap music video. Also, we find out in this video that Lil’ Wayne likes to have cologne sprayed on his crotch. Add that to the bank of Weezy F Baby trivia.

Besides, frankly, as far as recent single-take (or roughly single take) music videos go, “A Milli” sure beats the pretentious “Oxford Comma” video,
